About the role#
This co-op position joins the Protein Engineering team in Cambridge, Massachusetts. You will support developability assays for protein therapeutics, including monospecific and multispecific antibodies. The role involves routine testing and extended characterization of the physicochemical attributes of therapeutic proteins within a small team setting.
What you'll do#
- Analyze protein purity using SDS-PAGE, HPLC-SEC, HIC, and DLS.
- Conduct protein stability assays through thermal denaturation and accelerated degradation methods.
- Perform data analysis, interpretation, and documentation.
- Present findings to project teams.
- Exchange ideas and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to contribute to group knowledge.
- Perform routine lab tasks such as preparing buffers and measuring pH or UV absorbances.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BA, BS, or MS program in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Permanent authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, for the full duration of the co-op.
- Experience with standard protein characterization techniques like SDS-PAGE, HPLC, or CE-based methods.
- Ability to relocate to the Cambridge area.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with lab automation is preferred.
