About the role#
This co-op position is within the Biologics Drug Product Development and Manufacturing team. You will support gene therapy programs in the Genomic Medicine Unit. The role focuses on drug delivery and product development for modalities such as lipid nanoparticles and adeno-associated virus. You will work on-site in Waltham, Massachusetts, for a 6-month term starting in Winter 2027.
What you'll do#
- Execute formulation, process development, and stability studies for gene therapy programs.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to address formulation, stability, and compatibility requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including electronic laboratory notebooks, technical reports, and standard operating procedures.
- Analyze, compile, and present your findings to internal and cross-functional teams.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a PhD or MS program in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biochemistry, Materials Science, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of relevant laboratory experience.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, for the duration of the co-op.
- Permanent authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship.
- Ability to relocate to the Waltham area.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and multi-tasking skills.
- Experience in gene therapy, specifically the formulation and manufacturing of lipid nanoparticles and viral capsids, is preferred.

- Compensation: $35.00 to $58.00 per hour, based on experience.
