About the role#
We are looking for a Laboratory Intern to join our team in Greenville. You will support our laboratory operations by performing experiments, maintaining data integrity, and following established procedures. You will work directly under the guidance of a mentor to gain hands-on experience in a professional scientific environment. This is a part-time position requiring a minimum of 15 hours per week, with flexible scheduling available between Monday and Friday.
What you'll do#
- Maintain data integrity and use good documentation practices during experiments.
- Compare laboratory data against specifications to verify results.
- Manage the usage, care, and return of calibration standards, including timers, thermometers, and instrumentation.
- Follow standard instructions and internal Standard Operating Procedures to ensure testing accuracy and prevent deviations.
- Enter data into reports, templates, or software systems.
- Complete assigned tasks under the guidance of a mentor.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Current or recent enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Residency within 50 miles of the Greenville, North Carolina, site.
