About the role#
We are seeking a Bioinformatics Co-op to join our research team in Cambridge. You will work directly with scientists on neurology research projects, gaining exposure to disease mechanisms and the drug discovery process. This is a paid, full-time position for the Spring 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Perform cross disorder single cell RNAseq analyses of human AD, ALS, PD, and MS data sets.
- Support Neurology team efforts to organize omics data on our cloud computing infrastructure.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data to provide insights to the research team.
- Maintain meticulous records of all computational analyses.
- Execute a range of computational analyses using established methods.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university for the duration of the co-op.
- A Master's or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Neuroscience, Immunology, Biology, or a related field.
- Strong hands-on experience analyzing single cell and spatial omics neurodegeneration data sets.
- Proficiency with Unix, R, and Python.
- Knowledge of statistical methods for omics data and experience with CRISPR perturbation data sets.
- Permanent authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for visa sponsorship.
Location & details#
- The role is based on-site in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
- You must be able to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, for the duration of the 6-month program.
- Compensation is $45 to $57 per hour.
