About the role#
Northrop Grumman is hiring a Systems Safety Engineering Intern to join the Strategic Deterrent Systems Division in Huntsville, Alabama. This is a full-time, paid internship for the summer of 2027. You will work on-site for at least 10 weeks, contributing to technical planning and systems integration projects.
What you'll do#
- Perform technical planning and systems integration.
- Conduct verification and validation analyses across all stages of a system, from design and fabrication to operation and disposal.
- Ensure the logical conversion of requirements into total system solutions while considering technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Perform functional and timeline analysis.
- Conduct requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer needs into hardware and software specifications.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in Mechanical, Aerospace, Computer, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week for at least 10 weeks during the summer of 2027.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher is preferred.
