About the role#
Sanborn, Head & Associates, Inc. is hiring for an Industrial Internship for Summer 2027. This position supports our Industrial Client Service Area, which works on environmental site characterization, hydrogeologic assessments, and remediation projects. You will work alongside staff engineers and scientists to gain professional experience in the environmental consulting field.
What you'll do#
- Learn the day-to-day responsibilities of an engineer or geologist.
- Apply academic knowledge to hands-on project work.
- Assist with the preparation of technical reports and regulatory compliance tasks.
- Support field assessments, including groundwater and soil sampling, drilling oversight, and construction monitoring.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret environmental data.
- Participate in project meetings to learn how consulting projects are managed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or a recent degree from a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in environmental engineering, geology, or a related discipline.
- A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record.
- A willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing project needs.
- Strong attention to detail, technical understanding, and communication skills.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A flexible schedule with the ability to travel to various project locations.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship.
- Positions are available in Bedford, New Hampshire, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
- The role requires physical activity, including walking, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds, as well as working in various weather conditions and wearing personal protective equipment.
