About the role#
Sanborn, Head & Associates, Inc. is hiring an Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term in Philadelphia. This full-time role supports our Development Client Service Area, which guides real estate and infrastructure projects through design and construction. You will work alongside staff engineers and scientists on projects that combine geotechnical and environmental expertise.
What you'll do#
- Learn the day-to-day responsibilities of a professional engineer.
- Apply your academic knowledge to hands-on project work.
- Assist with the preparation of technical reports and regulatory compliance tasks.
- Support field assessments, including groundwater and soil sampling, drilling oversight, and construction monitoring.
- Help collect, analyze, and interpret environmental and geotechnical data.
- Participate in project meetings to understand how consulting work is managed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or a recent degree from a Bachelor's or Master's program in civil, environmental, or geotechnical engineering.
- A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record.
- Strong attention to detail and a solid technical understanding.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- The ability to work well both independently and within a team.
- A willingness to learn new skills and take on new challenges.
