About the role#
Sanborn, Head & Associates, Inc. is hiring an Engineering Intern for the Energy team in Bedford, New Hampshire. This full-time, paid internship takes place during Summer 2027. You will work alongside senior engineers to support gaseous energy infrastructure projects, including natural gas, LNG, RNG, and hydrogen facilities. The role involves a mix of office-based design work and field visits to client sites.
What you'll do#
- Learn the day-to-day responsibilities of a professional engineer.
- Apply your academic knowledge to hands-on project work.
- Assist with engineering analyses, including piping design and process equipment sizing.
- Prepare technical specifications and design packages for equipment and system components.
- Develop comprehensive design reports, technical assessments, and analyses.
- Create process flow diagrams and piping and instrumentation diagrams.
- Conduct site visits to utility and industrial facilities to review existing equipment layouts.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or a recent degree from a Bachelor's or Master's program in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering.
- A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record.
- Strong attention to detail and a solid technical understanding.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- A willingness to learn new skills.
