About the role#
We are hiring an Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to join our Development Client Service Area. You will work alongside staff engineers and scientists on infrastructure and real estate projects. This role involves both office and field work, providing a chance to learn professional engineering responsibilities under the guidance of senior staff.
What you'll do#
- Learn the day-to-day responsibilities of a professional engineer.
- Apply your academic knowledge to hands-on project work.
- Assist in preparing technical reports and regulatory compliance documents.
- Support field assessments including groundwater and soil sampling, drilling oversight, and construction monitoring.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret environmental and geotechnical data.
- Participate in project meetings to understand how consulting projects are managed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or a recent degree from a Bachelor's or Master's program in Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineering.
- Strong attention to detail plus solid organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A willingness to learn new skills.
- A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to visit project sites, which may require climbing ladders or stairs and working in various weather conditions.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based on-site at our offices in Bedford, NH; Burlington, VT; Boston, MA; or Philadelphia, PA.
- Travel to project sites is required.
