About the role#
Samtec is hiring a Signal Integrity Engineering Co-Op to join our team in Columbia, South Carolina. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position. You will work with various managers and teams within the signal integrity group to learn about high speed interconnect design. You will complete assigned projects, take direction from senior engineers, and explore solutions to technical issues.
What you'll do#
- Complete projects assigned by the signal integrity group.
- Perform 3D Electromagnetic modeling.
- Conduct high speed interconnect analysis for printed circuit boards, packages, and connectors.
- Use a Vector Network Analyzer and Time Domain Reflectometry for interconnect measurements.
- Develop scripts to help with post-process data analysis.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior status in a Bachelor of Science program for Electrical Engineering.
- Completed or planned coursework in Electromagnetics, Microwave Engineering, and Digital Signal Processing.
- Knowledge of Wave Propagation, Transmission Line Theory, and Scattering Parameters.
- Familiarity with modeling tools like MATLAB, ANSYS HFSS, and Key Sight ADS.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- Preference is given to students planning to pursue a graduate degree in Electrical Engineering.
