About the role#
Samtec is looking for an Electrical Engineering co-op focused on signal integrity. You will work with various managers and teams to learn about high-speed interconnect design. This role involves completing assigned projects, building relationships with team members, and following up on technical tasks. You will gain exposure to standard signal integrity design practices and learn how to explore new solutions to technical problems.
What you'll do#
- Complete assigned projects within the signal integrity group.
- Perform 3D Electromagnetic modeling.
- Conduct high-speed interconnect analysis of printed circuit boards, packages, and connectors.
- Perform interconnect measurements using a Vector Network Analyzer and Time Domain Reflectometry.
- Use scripting to assist in post-process data analysis.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior status in a Bachelor's degree program for Electrical Engineering.
- Completed or planned coursework in Electromagnetics, Microwave Engineering, and Digital Signal Processing.
- Understanding of wave propagation, transmission line theory, and scattering parameters.
- Familiarity with modeling tools like MATLAB, ANSYS HFSS, and Keysight ADS.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective time management to handle multiple projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Preference for students planning to pursue a graduate degree in Electrical Engineering.
