About the role#
Samtec is hiring an Electrical Engineering student for a hardware design co-op position. You will work on electronic hardware designs that support engineering, marketing, and production teams. This role involves the full design cycle, from initial concepts to hands-on testing in the lab.
What you'll do#
- Brainstorm preliminary concepts with marketing and engineering teams.
- Design and develop printed circuit boards (PCBs).
- Collaborate with Signal Integrity engineers, layout designers, and software engineers.
- Oversee the assembly and manufacturing of prototypes.
- Document test plans and results.
- Perform system bring-up and testing.
What you'll need#
- Basic understanding of analog and digital circuits.
- Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB layout tools like Orcad and Allegro.
- Experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Scripting or programming knowledge is a plus.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
