About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to support operations at the CHS Inc. refinery in Laurel, Montana. You will work alongside senior engineering mentors during the summer of 2026 to assist with the daily technical demands of a complex facility. This is a full-time, paid position requiring 40 hours of work per week on-site.
What you'll do#
- Troubleshoot equipment and systems to identify and correct performance deficiencies.
- Gather and analyze plant data to evaluate asset performance and reliability.
- Define project scopes for new equipment, infrastructure upgrades, and system improvements.
- Create documentation packages and technical specifications for asset replacements.
- Manage asset records to ensure data remains accurate and organized.
- Work to eliminate failure causes to improve safety and operational reliability.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Electrical Engineering program at a four-year university.
- Completion of your junior year in an accredited program.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, Access, SharePoint 2010 or newer, and AutoCad.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including respirators.
