About the role#
This internship focuses on system performance analysis, modeling, and simulation for next-generation mobile products. You will work within the SOC Lab to explore hardware and software co-design for future Samsung Galaxy devices. The role involves collaborating with global R&D teams to refine high-performance architecture for smartphones and tablets.
What you'll do#
- Conduct performance modeling and analysis of hardware features, applications, and benchmarks.
- Write software to automate workload trace collection, processing, parsing, and integration.
- Assist in creating workload models by building an understanding of the Android stack.
- Integrate software workload models with hardware models for IPs and SoCs.
- Analyze simulation behavior for system-level architectural tradeoffs, specifically regarding CPU, GPU, and NPU operation.
- Update IP integration based on feedback from architectural analysis.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or graduation within one year from a Masters or PhD program in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
- Hands-on experience with Python and C++.
- Ability to understand GO, TCL, and other programming languages.
- Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and programming.
- Coursework or demonstrable skills in computer architecture and operating system design.
- Familiarity with modeling and simulation workflows, as well as IP design tools.
- Basic familiarity with Android OS architecture and application development.
- Experience with ARM, SystemC, Gem5, AI acceleration, or the Android graphics stack is a plus.

- This is a full-time, paid internship for the Fall 2026 term.
- The role is based on-site in Mountain View, California.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
