About the role#
Saint Luke's East Hospital is hiring a Pharmacy Intern Year 1. You will work under the direct supervision of a pharmacist to gain practical experience in a hospital setting. A pharmacist reviews and validates your work to ensure accuracy and compliance with state regulations as you prepare for eventual licensure.
What you'll do#
- Pick, fill, and deliver medication orders and Omnicell stock to hospital units.
- Fill first doses for new patient orders.
- Prepack drugs and compound medications, including sterile products, chemotherapy, and special dosage forms.
- Answer the phone and assist at the front window with questions and requests.
- Complete projects to improve service or safety.
- Perform clinical student intern duties based on your pharmacy school education.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into an accredited school of pharmacy or a pharmacy early assurance program.
- A current pharmacy technician license.
- A Pharmacy Intern license issued by the Missouri Division of Professional Registration.
- Less than 1 year of applicable experience.
Location & details#
- Location: Lees Summit, Missouri.
- Schedule: This is a PRN position. You will work one weeknight shift per week after school and two shifts every other weekend.
- Work modality: On-site.
