    About the role#

    Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City is seeking a Nursing Intern for the Medical Intermediate Unit. This unit provides care to medical short stay high acuity patients, covering conditions such as heart failure, renal issues, and non-surgical treatments. This is a PRN, year-round position.

    What you'll do#

    • Perform clinical procedures and provide patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
    • Carry out direct and indirect patient care activities.
    • Provide support to other health care team members.
    • Perform technical tasks as permitted by unit competency validation.
    • Note that interns are restricted from performing any licensed tasks.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a formal nursing school.
    • A certified nursing assistant certificate.
    • Completion of a fundamentals of care course in nursing school.
    • Less than 1 year of applicable experience.
    • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or the Red Cross.
