About the role#
Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City is seeking a Nursing Intern for the Medical Intermediate Unit. This unit provides care to medical short stay, high acuity patients with various conditions, including heart failure, renal issues, and observation. This is a paid, year-round, PRN position.
What you'll do#
- Perform clinical procedures and provide patient care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Conduct direct and indirect patient care activities.
- Provide support to other health care team members.
- Perform technical tasks as allowed by unit competency validation.
- Note that interns are restricted from performing any licensed tasks.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a formal nursing school.
- A certified nursing assistant certificate.
- Completion of a fundamentals of care course in nursing school.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- Less than 1 year of applicable experience.
