About the role#
This is an unpaid externship designed for students currently enrolled in a Pharmacy Technician program affiliated with AZ College. You will rotate through various stations in our mail-order pharmacy distribution center. You will work alongside Pharmacy Technicians under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist to complete your required 160 externship hours.
What you'll do#
- Fill prescription medications using automation technology.
- Check all orders for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist Pharmacists with the safe distribution of medications and pharmaceutical care.
- Calculate correct dosage volumes, including conversions between metric and apothecary equivalents.
- Work with the inventory supply team to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Shadow team members across various departments.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Pharmacy Technician certification or degree program affiliated with AZ College.
- An active AZ Technician in Training license.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Commitment to our attendance policy.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position in Phoenix, Arizona.
- The role is full-time and unpaid.
- Standard hours are Monday through Friday between 5:30 AM and 4:00 PM.
- You will be scheduled for either four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts.
