About the role#
This Engineering Systems Co-Op position focuses on supporting the design and engineering software used at S&C Electric Company. You will work with business clients, peers, and software suppliers to meet business requirements and maintain document control applications.
What you'll do#
- Support design, engineering, and document control applications managed by the Engineering Systems team.
- Develop and deliver documentation and training materials for users.
- Provide end-user support by troubleshooting, investigating, and resolving software, model, and system usage problems.
- Participate in testing functional and technical system upgrades.
- Follow established standard work practices and define new procedures as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited university degree program with a concentration in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related technical field.
- Intent to return to school full-time after the work session.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing, engineering, and design concepts.
- Ability to prioritize a workload to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to understand how technical issues impact business decisions.
- An energetic and positive attitude.
- Initiative to stay current with core engineering and manufacturing systems.

- Location: Chicago, Illinois
- Term: Fall 2026
- Modality: On-site
- Schedule: 1st shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
- Compensation: $22 to $30 per hour based on experience
- Employment Type: Full-time
