About the role#
The Business Intelligence Intern joins the National Mission Critical team for the Summer 2027 term. This role focuses on the intersection of data analytics, process improvement, and organizational innovation. You will work alongside project and sector leadership to identify operational issues, diagnose root causes, and lead solutions through process redesign and technology enhancements.
What you'll do#
- Engage with project teams to conduct root cause analysis and uncover drivers of performance gaps or execution delays.
- Design and implement solutions involving changes to processes, systems, or tools.
- Monitor the adoption and performance of these changes, adjusting strategies based on measurable impact.
- Develop documentation, standard operating procedures, and training materials to support process standardization.
- Identify operational inefficiencies across development, construction, and corporate functions using internal and external data sources.
- Translate findings into dashboards, visualizations, and narratives using clear metrics and KPIs.
- Act as a bridge between data analytics, technology teams, and operational leadership to ensure integrated solution design.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor or master degree in Business, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in SQL, analytics platforms, and data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Strong skills in communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience with project delivery, scheduling, or cost control tools such as Procore, Smartsheet, or Primavera is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, 40-hour per week internship running from mid-May 2027 through August 2027.
- The role is based on-site in Minneapolis, Minnesota or Des Moines, Iowa.
- Candidates must be undergraduate students with a graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- This position is paid and requires verification of employment eligibility to work in the United States.
