About the role#
As a Technology Risk Consulting Intern, you will work with businesses across various industries, including manufacturing, real estate, financial institutions, and healthcare. You will gain hands-on experience by working directly with business owners and executive management. Each intern is assigned a Performance Advisor to guide their development throughout the summer.
What you'll do#
- Learn about client needs, their business operations, and their internal control systems.
- Help design and optimize controls using your knowledge of business processes and information technology.
- Identify internal control deficiencies and evaluate their risk implications through critical thinking and problem solving.
- Prepare internal control documentation for client engagements.
- Discuss strategies with client leadership to address emerging technology risks.
- Participate in projects such as Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, SOC reporting, IT controls testing, and internal audits of security and ERP systems.
What you'll need#
- Completed at least 90 credit hours toward a B.A. or B.S. degree.
- Major in Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively within a team.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Access to reliable transportation for travel to client sites.
- Progress toward a CPA, CISA, or CIA certification is preferred but not required.

- This is a full-time, paid internship located in Boston, Massachusetts.
- The role is on-site.
- This position takes place during the Summer 2027 term.
