About the role#
As a Managed IT Services Service Desk Consulting Intern, you will join our Technology Consulting group for the Summer 2027 term. This role provides remote technical support to our external clients. You will work alongside experienced consultants on various infrastructure projects, including engineering, design, and business technology. Please note that for quality assurance and training, client-facing calls are recorded, and team members must sign a consent form upon starting.
What you'll do#
- Provide phone and email technical support to resolve hardware and software issues for end-users.
- Troubleshoot workstations, servers, and network-related issues.
- Perform systems administration for Office 365, Windows Servers, and workstations across multiple client environments.
- Monitor and troubleshoot client backups.
- Manage and document support cases in our ticketing system, ensuring clear communication with clients until issues are closed.
- Escalate issues through proper channels and monitor trends to identify potential chronic infrastructure problems.
- Maintain client security standards and information confidentiality.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit or recent completion of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or an IT-related concentration.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Visio, as well as experience with Apple and Windows-based hardware and software.
- Experience with Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, Azure AD, and enterprise mobile devices.
- Familiarity with firewalls (Cisco, SonicWALL, Meraki), VMWare ESX hosts, and remote solutions like Citrix, VPN, or Remote Desktop Services.
- Excellent customer service, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities and a high attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
- Access to reliable transportation, as travel to client sites is required (up to 25%).
