About the role#
As a Managed IT Services Service Desk Consulting Intern, you will join our Technology Consulting group for the Summer 2027 term. This role provides remote technical support to our external managed service clients. You will work alongside our consultants on various infrastructure projects, gaining exposure to engineering, design, and business operations. Please note that client-facing service desk calls are recorded for training and quality assurance purposes, and you will be required to sign a consent form regarding these recordings upon your start date.
What you'll do#
- Provide phone and email technical support to resolve hardware and software issues for end-users.
- Troubleshoot workstations, servers, and network-related issues.
- Perform systems administration for Office 365, Windows Servers, and workstations across multiple clients.
- Monitor and troubleshoot client backups.
- Document support issues and resolution steps in the ticketing system.
- Manage cases based on impact and priority while communicating with clients until issues are resolved.
- Escalate complex issues through proper channels.
- Monitor trends in reported cases to identify potential chronic infrastructure issues.
- Maintain client security standards and information confidentiality.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or an IT-related field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Visio, as well as Apple and Windows-based hardware and software.
- Experience with Office 365, Windows Servers, Azure AD, SharePoint, and Teams administration.
- Familiarity with firewalls like Cisco, SonicWALL, and Meraki, along with VMWare ESX hosts and vSphere.
- Experience with remote solutions such as Citrix, VPN, and Remote Desktop Services.
- Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain a reasonable capacity for stress.
- Passion for technology and a desire to learn.

- Location: Kansas City, Missouri.
- Modality: On-site.
- Employment: Full-time.
- Travel: Up to 25% travel to client locations is required. You must have access to and be able to arrange for reliable transportation.
