About the role#
As a Community Relations Intern, you will work with the Community Engagement team to plan and run various events and programs. You will act as a representative for Royal Credit Union at local events such as parades, expos, and open houses. This role offers the chance to gain practical experience while helping the organization connect with the community.
What you'll do#
- Represent Royal Credit Union at community events.
- Assist with the planning and execution of programs and events.
- Write and distribute media content including press releases, blogs, and social media posts.
- Support internal initiatives such as the Volunteer and Kid’s Club.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team on promotional materials.
- Handle administrative tasks and suggest improvements to current processes.
- Assist the Financial Education and Grants teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at a university or technical college in a field like Communications, Journalism, or Marketing.
- Ability to commit to a 12-month internship.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Experience with event planning and content writing.
- Must be bondable.
- A valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle for local travel.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
Location & details#
- Location: Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
- Modality: On-site.
- Duration: May 2027 to May 2028.
- Schedule: 15 to 20 hours per week during the school year and 35 to 40 hours per week during the summer.
- Compensation: $17.85 to $19.98 per hour.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
