About the role#
The IT Audit Intern role provides hands-on experience within the Audit Services Department at Royal Credit Union. You will work under the direction of the Chief Internal Auditor to evaluate technology, security, and data integrity. This position runs for a 12-month term, beginning in May 2027 and concluding in May 2028.
What you'll do#
- Conduct audits focused on information systems, security, and compliance.
- Evaluate internal controls and write detailed reports with findings and recommendations.
- Assist in preparing for external audits and maintain organized documentation.
- Analyze continuous monitoring reports and follow up on previous audit recommendations.
- Support administrative functions and contribute to process improvements.
- Assist with the implementation of technology-driven projects within the department.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at a university pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Accounting, or a related field.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to meet multiple deadlines.
- Experience working, volunteering, or participating in a team or club while balancing school work.
- Must be bondable upon hire.
Location & details#
- This position is located on-site at the Royal Credit Union Corporate Center in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
- The role is paid at a rate of $19.77 to $23.81 per hour.
- You must be able to commit to the full 12-month duration.
- Expected hours are 14 to 17 hours per week during the school year and 30 to 40 hours per week during the summer, typically between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
