About the role#
This is a 12-month paid internship running from May 2027 to May 2028. You will work with the Community Engagement team to plan and run events, build brand awareness, and create content. This role requires a commitment of 15-20 hours per week during the school year and 35-40 hours per week during the summer. You must be able to work on-site at our locations in Eau Claire, White Bear Lake, or New Richmond.
What you'll do#
- Represent Royal Credit Union at community events like parades, expos, and open houses.
- Plan and execute programs while providing feedback on how they align with our mission.
- Write and distribute content including press releases, blogs, and social media posts.
- Support internal initiatives such as the Volunteer and Kid’s Club.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team on promotional materials.
- Assist with administrative tasks and suggest process improvements.
- Support the Financial Education and Grants teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at a university or technical college in a marketing, communications, journalism, or public relations degree program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- A valid driver’s license, an insured vehicle, and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to travel locally and transport event materials.
- Must be bondable.
- Experience with event planning and content writing is preferred.

- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $17.85 - $19.98 per hour.
- Training: New team members must attend Foundation Training at our Corporate Center in Eau Claire, WI, during their first week.
