About the role#
As a Community Relations Intern, you will assist the Program Director and the Community Engagement team with the planning and execution of various events. You will serve as a representative of Royal Credit Union at local community gatherings, including parades, expos, and open houses. This role involves creating media content, supporting internal programs like the Kid’s Club, and collaborating with the marketing team on promotional materials.
What you'll do#
- Represent the organization at community events.
- Plan and execute programs while providing feedback on their alignment with the company mission.
- Write and distribute media content including press releases, blogs, and social media posts.
- Support teams such as Financial Education and Grants.
- Handle administrative tasks and suggest process improvements.
- Assist with internal initiatives like the Volunteer program.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at a university or technical college in a marketing, communications, journalism, or public relations field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital tools like Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities with minimal supervision.
- A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and an insured vehicle.
- Must be bondable.
- Experience with event planning and writing content for blogs or social media is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: New Richmond, Wisconsin.
- Schedule: This is a 12-month, full-time commitment running from May 2027 to May 2028.
- Hours: 15-20 hours per week during the school year and 35-40 hours per week during the summer.
- Modality: This position is on-site.
- Compensation: The pay range is $20.53 to $22.99 per hour.
- Training: New team members must attend a two-day Foundation Training session at the Corporate Center in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
