About the role#
This is a 4-month internship for the Winter 2027 term, running from January to April 2027. You will join the Group Risk Management team to support Financial Crimes Quality Assurance. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Toronto.
What you'll do#
- Design and implement projects to monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of investigations conducted by the Financial Crimes team.
- Analyze and summarize project results for a broad audience to drive awareness and action.
- Use Power BI to organize results for trend analysis and targeted commentary.
- Support the Quality Assurance group by working with large datasets using Python.
- Promote analytics across the enterprise to help RBC function as a data-driven organization.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at a Canadian post-secondary institution in data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or machine learning.
- Programming skills in one or more languages, with a focus on Python.
- Ability to perform complex data analysis on large volumes of data and present findings to stakeholders.
- Strong skills in MS Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
