About the role#
This is a Technical Systems Analyst internship for the Winter 2027 term. You will work within the Technology and Operations division at RBC. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Toronto. The term lasts between 4 and 12 months.
What you'll do#
- Create and review technical design documents for small projects.
- Coordinate design phases, including identifying, tracking, and resolving technical issues.
- Participate in walkthrough reviews of technical specifications, programs, and unit test plans.
- Provide estimates for design, coding, and unit testing tasks.
- Facilitate small group meetings for technical design, problem solving, and task implementation.
- Perform low-level work package planning to meet project objectives on time and within budget.
- Provide third-level support for applications and databases.
- Tune individual functions to improve performance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on computer science, engineering, or technology.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience or understanding of programming languages, databases, platforms, or code management tools.
- Ability to think analytically and work as a self-driven individual.
- Helpful, but not required, is experience with web technologies, testing frameworks, or IT infrastructure standards.
