    About the role#

    The Retail Risk Modeling team uses large datasets to make decisions about loan originations. As an intern, you will analyze, implement, and test solutions that support real-time credit decisions for lending products like credit cards, home equity financing, and automotive loans. This role offers exposure to the full spectrum of retail banking products through advanced data analytics.

    What you'll do#

    • Develop and maintain AI and machine learning credit risk models for various lending business lines.
    • Extract, clean, validate, and analyze data from multiple sources to identify borrower patterns and market trends.
    • Build prediction systems using machine learning tools and statistical methods to optimize regression models and classifiers.
    • Prepare model documentation and present your findings to non-technical stakeholders.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a degree program related to computer science, finance, mathematics, statistics, or engineering.
    • Practical experience coding in SQL and Python.
    • Knowledge of machine learning, AI techniques, and advanced statistical methods.
    • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools such as copilot.

    Location & details#

    • This is an 8-month full-time internship running from January 2027 to August 2027.
    • The role is based in Toronto, Ontario.
    • Work arrangements include hybrid, on-site, and remote options to be discussed with the hiring manager.
    • Candidates must be located in Ontario for the duration of the term.
