About the role#
This internship offers a proactive, face-to-face client relationship role within the Commercial Banking platform. The program lasts approximately 9 months and is based in a Commercial Centre. You will be paired with a mentor who provides coaching throughout your training. This role focuses on providing service to commercial business clients regarding accounts, operating services, credit, lending, and deposits. Your training combines on-the-job experience with self-study, online courses, and classroom sessions.
What you'll do#
- Deliver financial advice and solutions tailored to your clients.
- Use sales planning, prospecting, and pre-call planning tools.
- Apply a continuous-improvement approach to provide a superior client experience.
- Develop a needs-based sales strategy to grow revenue and deepen client relationships.
What you'll need#
- A post-secondary diploma or degree, ideally in business administration, finance, or economics.
- Demonstrated success in a business development role, including prospecting and client acquisition.
- Experience with financial statement review and computer modeling.
- Familiarity with modern communications and technology, such as digital banking and web-based meetings.
- 1-2 years of experience in commercial or agriculture lending is preferred.
