About the role#
As a Relationship Manager Intern, you will manage a portfolio of small business clients to help them start, manage, and grow their enterprises. You act as an ambassador to the local business market by developing new business and deepening existing client relationships. You will work alongside other advisors and specialists to deliver tailored financial advice.
What you'll do#
- Acquire and grow client relationships by providing value-added financial advice.
- Proactively contact clients to gather insights, understand their changing circumstances, and gauge satisfaction.
- Plan and prioritize market activities, identifying opportunities to introduce clients to internal partners.
- Manage risk and exercise due diligence in all banking procedures, creating action plans to address concerns.
- Visit clients on-site to gain a deep understanding of their business objectives and operations.
- Champion digital enablement by advocating for mobile and online banking applications.
What you'll need#
- Proven skills in business development, client acquisition, and prospecting.
- Experience building and leveraging Centres of Influence within the local business community.
- A track record in exceptional client relationship management.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Current enrollment in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics.
- Preference for candidates with credit knowledge, including risk assessments, financial analysis, and credit structuring.
- Preference for candidates who have completed the Commercial Banking Advisor training program or have experience as a small business owner.
- Preference for knowledge of a broad array of business and personal financial products.
