    About the role#

    This is a 4-month student placement for the Winter 2027 term, running from January to April. You will join the Local Market Risk team to provide oversight for Global Equities and Central Funding businesses. This role acts as a link between trading staff, management, and Group Risk Management.

    What you'll do#

    • Support the management of market risk reporting processes and ensure the accuracy of key risk metrics.
    • Monitor trading activities and exposures to ensure compliance with internal policies and limits.
    • Analyze trading strategies and products to confirm they align with risk objectives.
    • Collaborate with trading teams on key risk issues, including systems and limits.
    • Identify opportunities to automate and improve team processes using Python and AI tools.
    • Coordinate with stakeholders to meet project deliverables, including risk modernization and capital requirements.

    What you'll need#

    • Bachelor or MS degree in Finance, Economics, or a quantitative subject.
    • Knowledge of market risk concepts such as sensitivity analysis, VaR, and stress testing.
    • Understanding of vanilla derivative products in Equity, Fixed income, and Foreign Exchange.
    • Proficiency in Python and SQL.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills.

    Location & details#

    • This position is based in Toronto, Ontario.
    • The role is full-time with a 37.5-hour work week.
    • Work arrangements include hybrid, on-site, and remote options, which will be discussed with the hiring manager.
    • You must be located in Ontario for the duration of the work term.
