About the role#
This is an 8-month internship within the Retail Portfolio Monitoring Team in Group Risk Management (GRM) at RBC. You will work in a hybrid capacity in Toronto, supporting data-driven business decisions by organizing and presenting data trends. This role offers exposure to experts in finance, technology, and risk management.
What you'll do#
- Analyze, design, and implement analytic development projects.
- Develop analytics and reports using Python, SAS, SQL, and Tableau.
- Maintain, document, and enhance existing reports.
- Seek out new tools, technologies, and improved processes.
- Contribute to GRM and build professional networks through daily collaborations.
- Participate in internal RBC events.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Experience with Python, SQL, MS Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to learn new concepts and systems quickly.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to conceptualize strategy.
- A creative and analytical mindset.
- Preference is given to candidates with experience in Tableau or Power BI, financial services, or leadership roles.

- Term: Winter 2027 (January 2027 to August 2027).
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Employment: Full-time, paid position.
- Eligibility: You must be returning to school after the work term or require this 8-month term as a mandatory component to graduate in August 2027.
