About the role#
This is a four-month Winter 2027 internship within the Capital Markets COO Group. You will join the Asset Servicing team in Bedford, Nova Scotia, to support trading desks across North America and EMEA. This is a full-time, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Ensure accurate and timely Corporate Actions processing for trading accounts.
- Support US, Canadian, and EMEA trading desks with products including Equities, ETFs, ADRs, Fixed Income, and Equity/Index Options.
- Manage mandatory and voluntary corporate actions, including mergers, dividends, stock splits, and interest payments within Sophis.
- Process and reconcile Equity and Index Options, including exercises, assignments, and expirations.
- Review option notices from the OCC and CDS.
- Resolve claims with external counterparties.
- Reconcile and resolve position and cash breaks between ICI-Impact and depositories like BoNY and DTC.
- Assist with other Asset Servicing functions as required.
What you'll need#
- Knowledge of Equities, Fixed Income, and Equity/Index Options.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in basic MS Excel.
- Ability to collect, analyze, interpret, and query data.
- Capability to document complex business requirements.
- Attention to detail and the ability to meet tight business deadlines.
- A logical mindset and technical aptitude.
- An inherent sense of ownership and initiative.
- Current or recent studies in Accounting, Economics, or Finance are preferred.
