About the role#
This is a 12-month software developer co-op opportunity within the Technology & Operations group at RBC. By applying to this posting, you will be considered for a variety of roles including Full Stack, Android, iOS, API, Web, Hadoop, and Automation developer positions. This role is a full-time, paid position based in Toronto. You must be available to complete the full 12-month term.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with peers to develop code and document components for strategic initiatives.
- Translate requirements into functional specifications and coordinate design phases.
- Create and review technical design documents to guide the development process.
- Conduct unit testing, including the development and use of automated unit testing frameworks.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and perform tuning to improve function performance.
- Present technical topics at regular TSA meetings and manage work package planning.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at a Canadian post-secondary institution in computer science, engineering, or a technology-related program.
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle, including Agile, Waterfall, and Iterative methods.
- Strong MS Office skills, specifically Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Leadership acumen and a drive to work in a collaborative environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with programming languages, databases, platforms, frameworks, and web technologies is preferred.
