About the role#
This is a 4-month software developer internship for the Winter 2027 term. By applying, you will be considered for multiple roles across RBC Technology & Operations, including Full Stack, Android, iOS, API, Web, Hadoop, and Automation developer positions. This is a full-time, paid, on-site role based in Toronto.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with peers to develop code aligned with strategic initiatives.
- Translate requirements into functional specifications and coordinate design phases.
- Create and review technical design documents.
- Participate in walkthrough reviews of technical specifications, programs, and code.
- Conduct thorough unit testing and develop automated unit testing frameworks.
- Improve performance through tuning and provide support for various technologies.
- Present technical topics at regular meetings and manage low-level planning of work packages.
- Estimate tasks for design, coding, and unit testing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at a Canadian post-secondary institution in computer science, engineering, or technology.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience or understanding of programming languages, databases, platforms, frameworks, and design tools.
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle, including Agile, Waterfall, and Iterative methods.
- A creative and analytical mindset with a self-driven approach.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
