About the role#
This is a full-time Software Engineering Internship based in Melbourne, Florida, for the Summer 2027 term. You will join the Avionics Software Tools team at Collins Aerospace, working on tools that configure avionics products and support integrated modular architecture systems. This role is on-site and does not include immigration sponsorship.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with a cross-functional agile team of software and systems engineers.
- Work with a mentor to follow established Collins Aerospace engineering processes.
- Develop software tools for avionics development within a Dev Ops environment.
- Present your completed project at the Summer Engineering Project (SEPP) demo fair.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or advanced degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related STEM major.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- Coding experience in Python, C, C++, or Java.
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming.
- Prior internship, co-op, or work experience with RTX is a plus.
