About the role#
The Tactical, Communications, and Maintenance Applications (TCMA) team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is seeking a Software Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This full-time, on-site role focuses on the design and development of software for fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, including the integration of surveillance equipment and radios for military customers. You will work within an Agile environment alongside cross-functional engineering teams.
What you'll do#
- Design, implement, and evaluate software using C++ and Python within an Agile framework.
- Collaborate with engineers to plan and develop military technology.
- Work with research teams to assess the effectiveness of early software prototypes.
- Implement requirements, detailed designs, and perform software integration and verification according to development processes.
- Manage multiple tasks with guidance and support from a mentor.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Familiarity with design and development using languages such as C, C++, Java, Ada, and Python.
- Ability to contribute effectively in collaborative, cross-domain environments.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic approach to work.
- U.S. citizenship is required for this role.
