About the role#
Raytheon Technologies is seeking a Software Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will join the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) team in Melbourne, Florida. This role focuses on the development, integration, and verification of advanced avionics and Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) software.
What you'll do#
- Design, implement, integrate, and test embedded software for advanced avionics navigation systems.
- Develop and execute verification plans, procedures, and test cases for GNSS algorithms, navigation functions, and integrity-monitoring software.
- Use automation, scripting, and GenAI-enhanced tools to improve verification quality and efficiency.
- Work with navigation algorithm, systems, and hardware engineering teams to ensure system performance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or advanced degree program in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
- Experience with embedded C/C++ software development.
- Proficiency in Python or MATLAB for signal analysis, test vectors, and prototyping.
- Knowledge of GNSS fundamentals and navigation systems.
- Understanding of basic algorithms and data structures.
- Working knowledge of SVN and Atlassian tools like Jira and Jama.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
