About the role#
Raytheon Technologies is seeking a Software Engineering Co-op to join the Integrated Applications Engineering team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This full-time position supports the development of the Collins Flight Deck. You will work on avionics programs, gaining hands-on experience across the software lifecycle. This role requires an on-site presence, Monday through Friday, for the Summer and Fall 2027 terms. You are expected to take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this mentorship opportunity.
What you'll do#
- Develop software based on high-level system behaviors and decompose requirements.
- Support avionics architecture development and contribute to software verification activities.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of software engineers, integration specialists, and test engineers.
- Assist with software integration, debugging, and issue resolution in development, simulation, and testing environments.
- Participate in technical reviews of software requirements, design documents, and test procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM discipline.
- Active enrollment through the completion of the co-op session.
- Minimum of 60 credit hours completed by the start of the session.
- Experience in C/C++ and Python, obtained through coursework, projects, or research.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
