    About the role#

    This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in East Hartford, Connecticut. You will support Pratt & Whitney by working on engine component evaluation, materials development, and chemical process analysis for commercial and military jet engines. This position requires U.S. citizenship.

    What you'll do#

    • Perform mechanical testing and structural analysis.
    • Develop structural software tools.
    • Conduct metallurgical, chemical, and materials analysis.
    • Evaluate inspection processes and coating properties.
    • Document and analyze experimental data.
    • Prepare technical reports and presentations.
    • Draw conclusions and provide recommendations based on your findings.

    What you'll need#

    • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Materials Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related STEM major.
    • Actively enrolled through the end of the internship.
    • Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.
    • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams.
    • Experience with materials characterization and test methods.
    • An interest in applied materials development.
    • Prior experience with RTX is a plus.
