About the role#
This Industrial Engineering Co-Op position is a full-time, paid opportunity based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It spans the Summer and Fall 2027 terms. You will work on-site in a manufacturing environment, collaborating with production teams to improve processes and solve technical problems. Please note that U.S. citizenship is required for this role.
What you'll do#
- Work directly with production floor employees, including operators, inspectors, and technicians, to resolve daily issues and prevent recurring problems.
- Design tooling for manufacturing processes, including the use of additive manufacturing and 3D printing.
- Analyze and support tasks like layout optimization, flow improvement, and the troubleshooting of electronic or electro-mechanical devices.
- Assist in the planning and allocation of materials, resources, and personnel.
- Conduct studies to support cost control, productivity, inventory management, and production record systems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or advanced degree program in Industrial Engineering or a related STEM major, continuing through the end of the co-op.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or Fusion 360.
- Preference is given to candidates with prior RTX internship or work experience.
