About the role#
As a Trade & Commodity Finance Summer Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in financing the global flow of essential commodities. You will work alongside Relationship Managers, Credit Analysts, and teams in Middle Office, Operations, and Trade Services. This role provides exposure to the agriculture, metals, minerals, and energy sectors.
What you'll do#
- Support Relationship Managers and Credit Analysts with prospect identification, client pitches, and follow-up presentations.
- Research commodity industries and assess market trends to support client coverage and business development.
- Assist with credit analysis, financial modeling, cash flow projections, and the structuring of credit products.
- Help prepare credit reviews, portfolio reviews, covenant checks, and recurring client information assessments.
- Participate in client meetings and support ongoing portfolio monitoring.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, international business, or a related field.
- Excellent academic performance, intellectual curiosity, and a willingness to learn.
- Foundational knowledge of credit analysis, lending, or financial analysis.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to work confidently with financial information.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in writing and in conversation.
- Capacity to manage multiple assignments with accuracy, initiative, and sound judgment.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as a team member.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
