About the role#
We are looking for a Project Accounting & Billing Intern to join our team for the Summer 2027 term. You will work with Project Accountants, Billing Specialists, and Project Managers to learn how accounting supports project delivery. This role provides hands-on experience with project setup, contract administration, invoicing, and financial reporting across our ecosystem of professional services organizations.
What you'll do#
- Assist with project setup activities within Deltek Vantagepoint.
- Support project data maintenance, including contract information, task structures, and billing details.
- Help prepare and review client invoices.
- Validate project-related expenses, time entries, and supporting documentation.
- Monitor project billing status and aging reports.
- Assist with contract administration, invoice discrepancy research, and month-end accounting activities.
- Participate in financial discussions, data analysis, and process improvement initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- A strong interest in project accounting or professional services accounting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- The ability to manage multiple assignments and work both independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
Location & details#
- This is a remote internship based in the United States.
- The position runs from the third week of May through the second week of August 2027.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
- Travel up to 5% may be required for business activities.
