About the role#
The Manufacturing Process Intern supports our team in Waukesha during the summer of 2027. You will work directly with manufacturing engineers to improve production efficiency, safety, and quality. This role involves a mix of shop floor engagement and office-based data analysis. You will collaborate with operations, quality, and safety teams to manage production challenges and support continuous improvement.
What you'll do#
- Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes.
- Assist with CAPEX project analysis, data collection, and project justification.
- Participate in process audits and 5S assessments.
- Contribute to Kaizen events and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Analyze data related to Overall Equipment Effectiveness and other performance metrics.
- Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and visual management tools.
- Create and update standard work documentation.
- Help design new fixtures and modify existing equipment to boost efficiency.
- Support shop operators and supervisors with day-to-day production needs.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or related degree program.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of machine tooling, maintenance methods, and material handling.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
- Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively.
- Self-motivated approach to learning and production tasks.

- This is a paid, full-time internship located on-site in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
- The term is for Summer 2027.
