About the role#
Prolec Energy is hiring a Mechanical Design Intern to join our team in Waukesha. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship with a rolling term. You will work within our manufacturing campus, splitting time between the office and the shop floor.
What you'll do#
- Create transformer mechanical drawings based on internal and external layouts and standard practices.
- Calculate dimensions, allowances, and specifications following standard procedures.
- Verify and update existing drawings.
- Assist your supervisor with planning and scheduling design and detailing tasks.
- Provide technical support and training to other team members.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Associate’s Degree program for Mechanical Engineering Drafting and Design or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ProE.
- Working knowledge of 3D software and drafting procedures.
- Ability to complete assignments with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well with others across different departments.
