About the role#
As an Electrical Design Intern, you will learn the fundamentals of transformer design and manufacturing. You will participate in the design process across all project stages. This role involves both office work and time on the shop floor to understand how our products are built.
What you'll do#
- Perform entry-level design engineering tasks and work on existing designs.
- Complete projects aimed at improving the accuracy of our design programs.
- Create a simple transformer design and observe a formal design review.
- Prepare a presentation to demonstrate your understanding of transformer principles.
- Learn the basic manufacturing flow of our products.
- Complete a design program verification project.
What you'll need#
- You are currently a sophomore or junior pursuing a bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering.
- You have completed coursework in linear circuits, electro-mechanical energy conversion, physics, and differential equations.
- Strong grasp of Electrical Engineering concepts.
- Good written and oral communication skills plus solid computer skills.
- You work well independently or as part of a team.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment or prior design work is a plus.
- Coursework in Power Systems and electric and magnetic fields is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship based in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
- You will work in both an office and a shop-floor environment.
- Physical requirements include the ability to stand for extended periods.
