About the role#
ProFarm is seeking an Intern to join the Quality Control group in Davis, California. This role supports scientists in conducting bioassays, testing materials for release, and generating accurate test records. The position involves working in laboratory, greenhouse, and production settings to ensure product quality and compliance with internal systems.
What you'll do#
- Perform raw material and finished product testing while ensuring complete documentation.
- Assist scientists with bioassays, plant culture maintenance, and plant propagation.
- Prepare laboratory reagents and various media types.
- Package and store product retains while maintaining test stations.
- Conduct basic laboratory and greenhouse maintenance and cleaning.
- Comply with quality systems, safety policies, and departmental procedures.
What you'll need#
- Coursework in a biological discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Familiarity with general laboratory equipment and practices.
- Previous hands-on lab experience and exposure to aseptic technique is preferred.
- Intermediate computer skills, including experience with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and graphics software.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple tasks under deadlines.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Comfort working in environments that may involve exposure to odors or substances requiring personal protective equipment.
