About the role#
ProFarm is seeking a Fermentation Intern to join the R&D Fermentation team in Davis. This role provides hands-on experience in fermentation, aseptic techniques, instrumentation, and data processing. You will support scientists working on fermentation process development from bench to pilot scale and have the opportunity to participate in research experiments depending on your ability and availability.
What you'll do#
- Clean and organize work areas and equipment.
- Maintain inventory of raw materials and supplies.
- Prepare media and other solutions.
- Prepare equipment for experiments.
- Maintain written batch records.
- Perform measurements on fermentation samples.
What you'll need#
- Current college student, preferably enrolled in biology, biotechnology, chemical engineering, or related fields.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and sit or stand for 2 to 4 hours at a time.
