Intern, Bioprocess

About the role#

ProFarm is seeking a Fermentation Intern to join the R&D Fermentation team. This role provides hands-on experience in fermentation, aseptic techniques, instrumentation, analysis, and data processing. You will support scientists working on fermentation process development from bench to pilot scale, with opportunities to participate in experimental research depending on your availability and ability.

What you'll do#

• Clean and organize work areas and equipment.
• Maintain inventory of raw materials and supplies.
• Prepare media and other solutions.
• Prepare equipment for upcoming experiments.
• Maintain written batch records.
• Perform measurements on fermentation samples.
• Store supplies and distribute items throughout the lab.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled as a college student, preferably in biology, biotechnology, chemical engineering, or a related field.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
• Capacity to understand and follow simple oral and written directions.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Ability to sit or stand for 2-4 hours at a time.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
