About the role#
The System Safety Engineering Intern will join our team in Tucson, Arizona, for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position. You will work within the Life Cycle Engineering department to help ensure our aerospace products are safe, reliable, and maintainable throughout their lifecycle.
What you'll do#
- Learn and apply MIL-STD-882E safety processes to perform safety tasks and analysis.
- Assist in creating plans and reports for key safety focus areas.
- Interpret system requirements and customer specifications.
- Investigate and develop new technology to benefit Life Cycle Engineering.
- Work with integrated product teams to identify hazards and implement effective controls.
- Help prepare technical reviews for the safety approval process.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Advanced degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
